My niece Dhanya had recently acted in a short film of Girish Sreenivas (http://girishsj.wordpress.com), my brother-in-law Bala's friend. This 6 minute short film is about the importance of speaking one's mother tongue properly. I could see that all the culture conscious art works - Short films, stories are coming from the NRI diaspora only. We, back in India, are busy in aping the west, giving justifications to all the misbehaviours in the name of "modernisation", but I personally had seen the NRIs taking their language, art forms (dance, music and drawings) seriously.
